FCHRM® Cohort 5 Concludes with Enriched Learning on Core HR Practices

The Philippine HR Institute’s Foundation Certificate in Human Resource Management (FCHRM)® Cohort 5 successfully ran across four Saturdays, October 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2025. Continuing its mission of providing participants with a strong and practical foundation in human resource management. The program once again gathered professionals and aspiring HR practitioners eager to deepen their understanding of the discipline and gain insights from distinguished industry experts.

The first session was led by Ms. Mariliza L. Arceo, a strategic HR professional with extensive experience in Organizational Development, Talent Development, and Industrial Relations. Ms. Arceo shared her expertise on Introduction to HRM and SHRM and Talent Acquisition, emphasizing the importance of people-centered strategies, leadership development, and culture- building in driving organizational success.

For the second session on Learning & Development and Organizational Development, participants were lectured by Mr. John Marvin S. Ong, a seasoned HR executive with nearly two decades of experience in both local and multinational organizations. Mr. Ong underscored the role of continuous learning and agile development frameworks in equipping today’s workforce to adapt and thrive in fast-evolving business environments.

The third session featured Dr. Markrinello Sarical, who discussed Performance Management and Total Rewards. Drawing from his extensive background in leadership, human capital, and education, Dr. Sarical provided participants with a holistic understanding of how effective performance and rewards systems can drive engagement, accountability, and productivity within organizations.

The program concluded with Atty. Eleazar Ypilan’s session on Philippine Labor Law and Compliance. Combining his expertise in both law and human resource practice, Atty. Ypilan offered a comprehensive overview of labor policies, data privacy regulations, and legal compliance standards essential for every HR professional to uphold fair and lawful workplace practices.

Cohort 5 was composed of participants from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the growing reach and inclusivity of the FCHRM® program. Among the attendees was as four fresh college graduates coming from different programs. The rest of the participants came from different private sector organizations, with several outside the HR field, showing FCHRM’s accessibility to professionals seeking to build or transition into HR careers.

Following the success of Cohort 5, the Philippine HR Institute (PHRI)™ is set to launch Cohort 6 of the Foundation Certificate in Human Resource Management (FCHRM)® this coming November 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2025. The upcoming cohort continues PHRI’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of HR professionals equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and competence to shape the future of people management.
