The Foundation Certificate in Human Resource Management (FCHRM)® by the Philippine HR Institute (PHRI)™ just concluded its Cohort 6 last November 29, 2025, marking another successful run of the program’s commitment to building strong, component, and future-ready HR practitioners. The program was conducted across four Saturdays (November 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2025) and welcomed participants from various parts of the Philippines representing both private and public institutions.

The first session on November 8 was led by Ms. Mariliza L. Arceo, who discussed the “Introduction to HRM & SHRM” and “Talent Acquisition.” Ms. Arceo brought her extensive expertise in Organizational Development, HR Business Partnering, and Talent Development to the cohort, enriching participants’ understanding of strategic HR practices and people-centered organizational systems. Her strong foundation in leadership development and organizational transformation provided participants with practical frameworks applicable to modern workplace.

On November 15, Mr. Edrian Gio Clemente facilitated the session on “Learning & Development” and “Organizational Development.” With nearly a decade of experience in training and capability building, Mr. Clemente provided participants with insights on designing effective learning programs, strengthening organizational competencies, and fostering high-performance cultures. His background in corporate training and coaching contributed to an engaging and development-focused session.

The third session, held on November 22, was led by Dr. Markrinello M. Sarical, who discussed “Performance Management and “Total Rewards.” Dr. Sarical’s vast academic and professional credentials, spanning leadership, labor relations, occupational safety, and organizational development, offered participants a comprehensive view of performance systems and reward strategies. His real-world applications allowed learners to grasp both technical and strategic dimensions of HR.

The final session on November 29 covered “Philippine Labor Law and Compliance”, facilitated by Atty. Eleazar Ypilan. Drawing from his legal background and extensive HR practice, Atty. Ypilan guided participants through the fundamentals of labor policies, compliance standards, and employee relations. His expertise provided the cohort with essential knowledge necessary to uphold lawful, ethical, and compliant HR practices within organizations. This session was notably commended by several participants as one of the most impactful discussions throughout the entire program, citing its clarity, real-life applications, and essential knowledge it delivered.

A total of 14 participants completed Cohort 6. The group consisted of eight attendees from private institutions, including one from the education sector; one participant from the public education sector; and five fresh graduates from various academic programs. This diverse mix reflects the growing reach of PHRI’s programs and the increasing interest in HR education among both new and experienced professionals.
